The Digital Asset Manager will be a part of the Creative Services team but will also work directly with the Information Technology (IT) department.
MLS Creative Services is an in-house design and production team – part of the Brand & Integrated Marketing Department – that services all internal constituents of the League, including Clubs and Soccer United Marketing, the commercial and operational branch of MLS representing soccer-related properties. The Digital Asset Manager is responsible for leading overall strategy, implementation and workflow of the Digital Asset Management system, as well as overseeing user training/onboarding.
Establish and lead initiatives surrounding the organization’s DAM system
Establish best practices for the DAM, including taxonomy, metadata schema, tagging standards, workflows and processes across the entire organization and within multiple digital asset categories
Oversee daily maintenance and usability of Digital Asset Management (DAM) system
Create tutorial/instruction documents, supervise onboarding and training of staff on DAM system
Survey the evolution of AEM, its new functionalities and the general trends in the field
Perform and supervise others in tagging and uploading of assets in DAM system (Phase 1: logos, toolkits, and style guides available to staff, partners, and vendors)
Manage and plan for Digital Rights Management and maintain access control with end users
Improve how we catalog and access photos as an enterprise (Phase 2: building a photo library within the DAM system; incorporating Club content and access)
Work with IT and consultants to document and address bugs and feature improvements
Work with key stakeholders to create and implement roadmap for future development of the DAM system
Monitor usage patterns of DAM system and make recommendations for improvements
Work with both internal and external clients, frequently interacting with other functional departments (e.g. Marketing, Communications, Events, Community Relations)
Additional responsibilities as assigned
5+ years of experience in Design Asset Management
Extensive knowledge of DAM systems, including structure, functionality, taxonomy and metadata.
Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
Experience in technical user training and support
Experience working with off-shore development teams
Experience and/or certifications with Project Management platforms and methodologies
Schedule flexibility with the ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Strong knowledge of soccer and its terminologies, knowledge of MLS a plus.

Experience in Sports, pop-culture, entertainment environment a plus.
Knowledge of design in sports (range of applications, technical requirements) a plus.
Knowledge of Workfront project management system a plus
Knowledge of ProofHQ (aka Workfront Proof) review/approval tool a plus.
